Community relations

Newington Residents Group was set up in November 2020. It is ran by residents for residents. The main goals of the group are to improve the local area we live in.

NHS at 70: The Story Of Our Lives is a national programme of work supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by The University of Manchester. We are recording stories from people who worked and were cared for by the NHS since its creation in 1948. These stories will be available on our public Digital Archive, which can be accessed by everyone.* The Digital Archive will provide a lasting resource for audiences to discover NHS history through the voices of the people who have worked and were cared for by the NHS since 1948.

NIMFA provides services for the Muslim community in NI. We are a Mosque, community centre and Islamic and Arabic school for 4yrs to GCSE.

The Northern Ireland Housing Association Charitable Trust (NIHACT) is a charity run by the Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (NIFHA) that helps housing associations maximise their social impact for the people and communities they serve.

North Belfast Interface Network (NBIN): Was established in 2002 in response to the critical levels of inter-communal conflict at interfaces in Ardoyne, New Lodge, Cliftonville, Marrowbone and the corresponding PUL communities. This project was primarily single identity in nature but recognised the necessity of engaging on a cross-interface basis if levels of inter-communal violence were to be reduced and eradicated.

The role of North Belfast Partnership (NBP) is to promote social and economic regeneration throughout the north of the city and to address the causes of deprivation that disadvantage many local people and the communities in which they live.

Northern Ireland Alternatives (NIA) is a government accredited restorative justice programme that aims to promote and develop non-violent community responses to the issues of low-level crime and anti-social behaviour in areas across Northern Ireland. We currently have branches in North Belfast, Greater Shankill, East Belfast, South Belfast and North Down.
