This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to work in an unsupervised capacity; planning, instructing and evaluating a safe and effective Pilates session.

The qualification aims to equip the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to plan and instruct programmes for exercise referral.

This is a half day’s refresher training for Designated Officers who have already attended a full day’s training. It covers: The role and responsibilities of the Designated Officer Health and Social Care Trusts structures and processes Issues and experiences around referrals and sharing information Recent developments in safeguarding children and young people. Participants should ensure their basic awareness training is also refreshed every three years (or earlier if required).

Autism NI's Impact Award for Sports and Youth settings provides expert autism training and follow up support to your team. This practical training programme will equip service and project leads with the tools and skills they need to evaluate the impact of their service or intervention in a meaningful way. It is suitable for those who need to understand the basics of evaluation, and those who need to enhance their skills in analysing and reporting data to be able to tell their story. The programme is split into 3 modules, delivered online in half day sessions - you can attend an individual module or all 3 depending on your knowledge and experience.

April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month     It’s a fantastic annual opportunity to educate your business, organisation or community group about the disease by joining us for a free virtual awareness talk.     Delivered by a volunteer with a personal connection to bowel cancer, you’ll learn about the most common symptoms of bowel cancer, the risk factors associated with the disease and the importance of the NHS bowel screening programme.  

By completing this qualification, learners will meet industry requirements to support exercise and physical activity for healthy and non-complicated antenatal and postnatal clients, as set out within the CIMSPA professional standard. The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to develop the knowledge to support exercise, physical activity, health and wellbeing during the perinatal period (pregnancy and postnatal). This includes when and how to signpost to other services, where necessary.

The KEYHOLE® Early Intervention Programme is a 2-day interactive training course specifically designed for early years professionals. This training programme aims to help professionals develop their skills and confidence in supporting young autistic children or those that may be awaiting an assessment. Topics include play, communication, social interaction, behaviour, and the Early Years role. The aim of the course is to enable you with the skills and confidence to support the child and family in a person-centred and neuroinclusive way.

Keeping Adults Safe: Adult Safeguarding Champion and Appointed Person Refresher Training: The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.

The integrated training programme is aimed at those who engage with children, young people and adults at risk. It covers: Legal context and policy context of safeguarding children and adults Awareness of vulnerability Awareness of abuse issues Procedures for reporting concerns Procedures for creating a safe environment and assessing and managing risk Confidentiality Code of behaviour for staff/volunteers.

DU Dance (NI), in association with The MAC, presents their annual youth dance platform, UNANIMOUS. This event brings together some of the best youth dance groups from across the island of Ireland and beyond.

Sometimes managing & leading volunteer teams can present us with unique challenges that can be difficult to overcome. Issues like: Volunteers who have come into conflict with each other in a way that is damaging team morale Volunteer teams who dislike & resist changes that the organisation wants to make Volunteers who are not performing well but who are unwilling to step back A volunteer who has clashed with a service user in a way that might damage the organisation’s reputation may arise and need your immediate attention without there being any clear guidance on how best to resolve them. This workshop will explain various strategies, communication styles, and conflict management skills that will help you resolve these types of difficulties. We will then explore some real case studies to think about how to apply these problem-solving techniques in practice.

We’re excited to introduce 3rd Space Saturdays—a new monthly drop-in space for adults aged 25 and over. Held once a month at Annadale Community Centre, this is a relaxed, cost-free environment where you can come along, meet others, and simply spend time in good company.

This course will provide a more in-depth and advanced analysis into Universal Credit and Transitional Protection.

Please note that Part One is 6th May 6.30pm-9.00pm and Part Two is 13th May 6.30-9.00pm: BOTH sessions must be attended for a certificate to be issued. This certificated training course is suitable for staff and volunteers who have regular and/or direct contact with children and young people (e.g. supervisor, leader, officer in charge). It will assist staff and volunteers with meeting good practice standards in safeguarding children and young people.

Please note that Part One is 6th May 6.30pm-9.00pm and Part Two is 13th May 6.30-9.00pm: BOTH sessions must be attended for a certificate to be issued.
