The role of North Belfast Partnership (NBP) is to promote social and economic regeneration throughout the north of the city and to address the causes of deprivation that disadvantage many local people and the communities in which they live.

North Belfast Partnership was established in 1997 under the Making Belfast Work Initiative along with four other Partnerships operating in other parts of the city. The role of North Belfast Partnership (NBP) is to promote social and economic regeneration throughout the north of the city and to address the causes of deprivation that disadvantage many local people and the communities in which they live.

As a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity the Partnership has a Board membership of representatives from across the local community and voluntary, public, private, social partner and political sectoral interests. A central feature of the Partnership's work is to facilitate stakeholder engagement to create effective collaboration which can influence how public policy and strategic resources are used to respond to local needs.  NBP facilitates the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy through providing secretariat and technical support to the 5 Neighbourhood Renewal Partnerships located within North Belfast, led by the Department for Social Development (Belfast Regeneration Office North).

NBP has substantial experience of leading and facilitating local area networks and consortia to promote social and economic regeneration interventions. Much of NBP’s work is about delivering joined up approaches to socio-economic regeneration in some of the most socially deprived communities in Belfast and development staff have practical experience of creating local and citywide linkages to deliver community initiatives that bridge community/statutory approaches to service delivery.  This is illustrated by NBP experience in the Urban II Programme, ESF employability programmes LEAP and PEP, Graduate Internship Programme and EQUAL EAP.  NBP has internal quality systems and standards established through ISO 9001:2008 and it's IIP status.
