The Role of the Fire Warden

Would you like to increase your confidence on how to respond to someone who discloses that they have lived experience of abuse? This session aims to increase your awareness and prevalence of domestic and sexual abuse and explores the dynamics and impact of grooming and coercive control and how it can impact someone.  

Beginning Wednesday 1st September 2021 from 6 pm - 10 pm, for four weeks

The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.

This is a face to face training in Omagh. This is a full day’s training for Adult Safeguarding Champions and Appointed Persons.

Keeping Children and Adults Safe: Training for Staff and Volunteers This is a face to face training in Belfast. The integrated in person training programme is aimed at those who engage with children, young people and adults at risk. It covers: Legal context and policy context of safeguarding children and adults Awareness of vulnerability Awareness of abuse issues Procedures for reporting concerns Procedures for creating a safe environment and assessing and managing risk Confidentiality Code of behaviour for staff/volunteers.

This is a half day’s refresher training for Designated Officers who have already attended a full day’s training. It covers: The role and responsibilities of the Designated Officer Health and Social Care Trusts structures and processes Issues and experiences around referrals and sharing information Recent developments in safeguarding children and young people. Participants should ensure their basic awareness training is also refreshed every three years (or earlier if required).

This one day certificated training is suitable for Designated and Deputy Designated Officers. It will cover: Knowledge of the legal context of safeguarding children; An understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Designated Officer; Knowledge of Health and Social Care Trust structures and processes; and Exploration of issues and concerns around referrals and sharing information. All participants must have completed a safeguarding children awareness raising course prior to attending. Keeping Children Safe: Training for Staff and Volunteers is a suitable foundation course.

This qualification provides an introduction to teaching. It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as: Individuals not currently teaching or training achievement of the qualification does not require practice other than microteaching unless units from the Learning and Development suite of qualifications are selected; Individuals currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training) although the qualification does not require practice other than microteaching (unless units from the Learning and Development suite of qualifications are selected), opportunities may be made available to observe and provide feedback on a trainee teacher’s practice; Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.
