Introduction to Counselling

JMC Counselling & Training
What you will learn:
Counselling training is based on three main theoretical approaches, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT). You will learn a little about each, and how these are used in counselling
Practical and generic skills are also important, and again participants will learn how these are utilised.
Finally, ethical considerations and boundaries in counselling are essential, so students will engage in learning about how these are used.
Discussions will also take place around many contexts and issues clients present in counselling. Some of which will include: Suicide, Bereaved by Suicide, Trauma and PTSD, Addiction, Domestic Violence, Self Harm, Depression, Anxiety, issues around COVID-19 and many more.
This packed taster will certainly give you what you need to decide as to whether you wish to progress with your counselling studies.
You will also learn a lot about theories and skills and you can begin to put these to good use immediately.
