About the Role

Bolster Community is seeking a Community Support and Employability Worker to provide direct support to young adults with intellectual disabilities through the Positive Transitions programme. This role involves delivering activities to enhance independent living, social, and employability skills.

Additionally, two afternoons per week, you will support children with physical and intellectual disabilities in our After the Bell afterschool programme, creating fun, engaging, and inclusive play experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to young adults in classroom and outdoor settings
  • Encourage independence and develop employability skills
  • Support children of mixed abilities in an afterschool play setting
  • Assist with route training for independent travel
  • Plan and facilitate engaging activities for young people
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure programme targets are met

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people with disabilities
  • Strong communication and engagement skills
  • Ability to support independent living and employability training
  • Passion for inclusive education and play-based learning
