Have you often thought you would like to go to university, but don't have the qualifications? Perhaps you had negative experiences of school and lack confidence in your ability to learn? This online course, running over the summer, will help you to overcome the barriers to your learning and enable you to develop skills needed for learning at university.

This session will provide information on the Unblocking Potential: Bridge over Troublesome Knowledge Course. This 6-8 week Ulster University access course will be delivered in community settings in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon. Funded by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council as part of their Peace IV activities, the course aims to build self confidence, develop understanding of barriers to learning and provide access to higher education. Course fees are covered by the PEACE IV Programme and the course is accredited by Ulster University.

This 90-minute nutshell course will refresh, inform and update learners on Universal Credit calculations and will include detail on the following: How to perform manual calculations How to build entitlement to SDP transitional amounts within the calculation How to forecast transitional protection Tricky points to look out for (like carers/LCW clashes and “permitted works”)

Money Guiders are holding an event to discuss steps you can take as staff to manage your own wellbeing. We know that front line practitioners of Northern Ireland will be having difficult conversations about money guidance, so we want to offer support and time to recognise that. We welcome everyone to our network. So please spread the word so that we can grow and support as many practitioners as possible! As part of the Administrative Data Research Centre Northern Ireland (part of ADR Northern Ireland) Symposium Series, this seminar will bring together researchers, service providers, policymakers and frontline workers to explore how we can shape our research to help us better understand the intersection between work and mental health, and how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted workers and carers.

A new week day activity programme to boost confidence in 16-30 year olds with additional needs is starting in West Belfast in October with young people invited to Registration Day to find out more.
