In November 2016 the discretionary support scheme replaced aspects of the social fund, a series of loans and grants designed to support individuals who were experiencing a financial crisis. This webinar will give a comprehensive overview of the operation of the scheme, as well as highlighting the changes introduced due to Covid-19.

These workshops are held by Advice NI’s Quality Assurance Co-ordinator and are an excellent method of support for Quality Assessors within member organisations, who have either achieved, or are working towards the Northern Ireland Advice Quality Standard (NIAQS). The workshops will provide a practical, hands on approach to completing Advice Audits within a supportive environment of Peer Assessors. With the guidance of the Quality Assurance Co-ordinator, participants will be taken through a step by step approach to auditing quality of advice, enabling them to achieve a standardised level of Auditing for their individual organisations.

Community Places gives free planning advice to people and community groups who cannot afford to pay a private consultant.  We hold outreach advice events throughout the region and the next one will be held on Thursday, 17 October 2019 in the Rural Community Network in Cookstown.

This FREE half day training session updated for 2019 focuses on perhaps the most significant reform to Social Security since the inception of the Welfare State. It provides participants with an overview of which means tested benefits Universal Credit replaces, how entitlement is calculated, how it works for different groups of people interfacing with the benefit and when it will be implemented in the different geographical areas of Northern Ireland.
