Stephen Dunne MLA is seeking to appoint a Constituency Assistant / Caseworker within his North Down Constituency Office based in Bangor, to support him in dealing with enquires and casework from the public, on a wide range of issues coming to his Office.

The successful applicant will be supporting Mr Stephen Dunne MLA within his North Down constituency office, and in particular dealing with enquires / casework from members of the public, on a wide range of issues coming to his Office. 

£13.88 per hour

35.5 hours per week


Responsibilities


• Respond to correspondence and enquiries from constituents on Casework, i.e providing information/advice to constituents on a range of issues including, Housing, Welfare, Health, local services etc.
• Assist in managing and progressing portfolio of casework appropriately including through incoming phone calls, emails and face to face enquiries, updating/maintaining IT databases.
• Ensure enquiries are dealt with sensitively and confidentially.
• Support colleagues in gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
• Attend meetings/conferences and training sessions as required.
• Organise and provide secretarial support and diary management.
• Distribute communication and information on behalf of the MLA
• Work as part of a team to resolve cases/progress issues on behalf of local constituents in support of the MLA.
• Liaise with local community groups / key contacts in community who require support
• Assist in preparation for visits, events and meetings, and supporting the MLA in those meetings as required.
• Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
• ⁠Other duties as required in support of the MLA carrying out their Assembly duties.
 

Essential Criteria


• Must have a working knowledge of IT/ Microsoft Office, Outlook/Emails etc
• Demonstrate ability to work from own initiative and see tasks through to conclusion.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of GDPR

Desirable Criteria


 - Applicants would benefit from experience from working in a public role
- Good problem solving and communication skills
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
• Awareness of local issues within the constituency and political awareness.
