GamCare’s Young People's Support Service

The Young People’s Service is for:

• Young People affected by their own gambling related harm
• Young People impacted by someone else’s gambling
• Family members worried about a Young Person’s gambling

We will ensure every young person worried about gambling is listened to and fully supported.  Our free Young People Service can be accessed through:

Young People Gambling Awareness Workshops

One hour funded workshops offer guidance for young people on where to seek support if they are concerned about themselves or another’s gambling behaviour. The workshops have been independently evaluated with 91% participants stating they knew the warning signs and symptoms of compulsive gambling following the awareness session. Training Youth Facing Professionals

Training professionals who work with young people in gambling awareness increases early identification and effective signposting into age appropriate services, this helps to protect young people from gambling related harm.

Two levels of training are available for professionals, a one-hour gambling awareness session and a three hour CPD course which includes Brief Intervention.

The one-hour gambling awareness session is designed to give an overview of the signs of problem gambling and gambling related harm in young people and where to sign-post young people for appropriate support.  To book a free professional awareness session please email: hello@bigdeal.co.uk

Three hour CPD accredited Brief Intervention course is aimed at professionals who do not specialise in the treatment of gambling problems, participants with knowledge and skills to deliver an effective Brief Intervention, provide support and signpost to age appropriate services.
