Tree dressing events mark one year to go until launch

A centuries-old wood, at the foot of Cave Hill in north Belfast, is set for a facelift thanks to funding of almost £48,000 from the Alpha Programme, administered by Groundwork Northern Ireland.

Feel a million miles from the city, with a guided walk at Carnmoney Hill – a striking natural landmark on the outskirts of Belfast.

The invitation comes from the Woodland Trust; and the date for the diary is Saturday 24 September, at 11am.

Families and friends are invited to venture deep into the forest for a magical evening with Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and James Corden.

Swathes of glorious wildflowers are lifting their pretty heads to greet visitors to the Woodland Trust’s Carnmoney Hill in Newtownabbey.
