Developmental Programme Deputy Leader - Term Time Only

About the Role

Mourne SureStart is seeking a Deputy Leader for its Programme for 2-Year-Olds, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based early childhood services for children and families.

You will play a key role in promoting positive parenting, supporting families, and enhancing the role of parents as the ‘first educators’. The Deputy Leader will assist the Early Years Leader in the overall safety and well-being of the children, ensuring the programme’s standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the Mourne SureStart project and increase membership
• Deputise in the absence of the Early Years Leader and manage staff within the group
• Engage with families to share and discuss children’s learning outcomes
• Support parent-child interaction and promote positive parenting
• Advise and signpost parents to appropriate services and agencies
• Liaise with staff and agencies to promote child and family health and well-being
• Adhere to child protection guidelines and maintain confidentiality
• Maintain accurate records and perform administrative tasks as required
• Attend meetings, training, and seminars

Who We're Looking For

• Experience in early childhood education or childcare
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with families and external agencies
• Knowledge of child protection guidelines and confidentiality standards
