Art & Culture Workshop

Belfast Buildings Trust

Are you interested in the performing arts? Fancy a career in it? Belfast Buildings Trust and Northern Ireland Opera are collectively hosting a FREE theatre skills workshop where attendees can explore special effect make-up, costume making, set design, and much more with the guidance of theatre professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity to try out specialist theatre skills in a fun and welcoming environment! Open to people of all ages (but recommended for 14+). Belfast Buildings Trust is working with Northern Ireland Opera and other partners to explore what happens in Carlisle Memorial Church. The building’s future must play a creative role in Belfast’s future. We want the ideas for what it can be to come from working with you and others across Belfast. It means that this work is about the places you know and love.

Written and performed by: Nuala McKeever Directed by: Dan Gordon Nuala McKeever is delighted to present her smash hit comedy drama – Truth, Love or Promise. In this powerful, poignant and hilarious one woman show, Nuala plays 3 women who meet at a Creative Writing class in Belfast. Over the weeks, Brenda, Maureen and Joanna get to know each other through their stories. But it’s the things they’re leaving out that really tell the tale. This play deals sensitively with themes of loss, grief and how to deal with life when it doesn’t turn out the way you expected. Reviews: “The story-telling confidence of Charles Dickens. Warm-hearted and engaging.” The Irish Independent “Breath-taking, a tour de force!” No More Workhorse “Simply astounding! Comedy and pathos cheek-by-jowl. This is pure O’Casey or Shakespeare” Jim Lockhart (Horslips and RTE) 16+
