Action for Children’s, Early Intervention and Family Support Service aims to help children and their families deal with difficulties and work together at an early stage to explore solutions and prevent long term problems.

The Supporting Families, Supporting Communities Project works by assisting children and families affected by alcohol to help them achieve their full potential, through raising awareness, establishing support and advocating.

We are looking for volunteers from all areas to provide assistance with parenting support programmes, this can vary from helping to make tea and greet parents or assisting the delivery of the programme with a member of staff.   We are also looking for volunteers to assist staff in the delivery of group work programmes aimed at raising awareness of the impact of alcohol.

On occasions you may be required to befriend/ mentor and assist children. Action for Children runs several outings and group activities throughout the year that you can also offer assistance with.   Or if you are interested in strengthening your local community and raising awareness, working as part of a team with Action for Children can really make a difference to children’s lives.

The role is Access NI checked.

If you wish to receive an application form please contact Laura Rickey, Volunteer Co-ordinator.
