The Ulster Aviation Society (UAS) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering a love of aviation within the Northern Ireland community.
We are a large group of passionate Volunteers, all sharing a deep interest in the history, technology, and cultural significance of aviation and flight.
The UAS is 100% Non-Profit and committed to the preservation and restoration of aircraft, artefacts, and aviation stories, especially related to Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland as a whole.
Our Heritage collection of Aircraft & Vehicles — one of the largest in the UK — includes a diverse and exciting range of military and civilian aircraft, both British and Irish, along with engines and aviation-related artefacts. We maintain a comprehensive aviation library of educational resources, including articles, photographs, and historical documents. This allows anyone with an interest in aviation to access valuable information at their own pace.
Our operations are entirely managed by our Volunteers (from both North & South) who dedicate their time and skills to maintain our Heritage collection of aircraft and vehicles, plus share their knowledge with the public via our Volunteer Tour Guides — for FREE! This not only provides a rewarding experience for our Volunteers but also contributes to the local community by actively promoting voluntary work and community service along with local heritage.
As a voluntary organisation, we play a significant role in supporting the voluntary sector in that regard.
In line with our Educational mandate, we are actively involved in educating the public about the history and importance of aviation, organising regular tours and educational programs for local schools and community groups.
We also have brand new, state-of-the-art Flight Simulators & VR Suites to give the public the simulated experience of flying or being in aircraft.
These initiatives aim to inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts and professionals, and to ensure that our aviation heritage is not forgotten.
By offering these educational programs free of charge, or at minimal cost if evening tours or very large groups, the UAS makes valuable contributions to the Voluntary and Community Sectors. We believe that knowledge and inspiration are powerful tools, and we strive to make them accessible to everyone in the community.
