Stella Maris

Stella Maris, active worldwide, provides the pastoral outreach of the Catholic Church to seafarers and fishers around the world – regardless of creed or nationality. Stella Maris deploys regional port chaplains and ship visitors to welcome seafarers and fishers to ports, providing for their spiritual, practical, and pastoral needs onboard ship or in seafarers’ centres. Working collaboratively and ecumenically with other industry bodies and welfare agencies, it promotes the recognition of seafarers’ and fishers’ inherent human dignity and their vital place within the modern maritime industry.
