What we offer

The core programmes on offer at the Belfast centre are:

Youth Engagement

The Youth Engagement Programme targets young people between the ages of 14 -20 who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) back into education, training or employment. We have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who will engage with individuals and groups at a street based detached level and seek to initiate and build relations with these young people and identify their needs and help them develop programmes that are individual to their needs. Rathbone seeks to expand young people’s opportunities to partake in activities that develop their participation in sport, art and cultural activities whilst also recognising these achievements with recognised qualifications. Youth Engagement is happening in the following areas North Belfast (Lower), West Belfast (Upper) and Colin Area (Lisburn).

Mentoring Support

Rathbone engagement staff and volunteers undertake intensive one to one mentoring support with individuals both from our engagement work and those referred to our project through various statutory and voluntary agencies such as social services and education welfare support. Referrals can be made by any agency please call or email and request a referral form.

Over the past three years Rathbone has worked closely with the Youth Justice Agency to provide support and provision for young people involved in the justice system. This programme includes, Rathbone’s social capital programme “Prove It”, Intensive one to one mentoring support, facilitation of reparation hours and extended family support.
