Promoting race equality in social care and social support by exploring evidence, developing interventions, and disseminating good practice.
The Race Equality Foundation promotes race equality in social support (what families and friends do for each other) and public services (what 'workers' do with people who need support).
We do this by:
- exploring what is known about discrimination and disadvantage
- developing evidenced-based better practice to promote equality
- disseminating better practice through educational activities, conferences, written material and websites.
Our evidence-based practice websites are:
- Better Health (using evidence to promote race equality in health)
- Better Housing (using evidence to promote race equality in housing)
- Strenthening Practice (a website for facilitators of the Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities inclusive and evidence-based parenting programme, designed to promote protective factors which are associated with good parenting and better outcomes for children.
We have offices in London, Leeds, and Manchester.
