Quaker Service is a family welfare charity pioneered and developed by The Religious Society of Friends (known as Quakers). Our mission is to play a practical role in reducing violence, suffering and disadvantage by providing services which support, value and empower people. Our main services are delivered from Quaker Connections, our befriending service at Maghaberry Prison and in the community, and at Quaker Care Ltd, established in 1998 as a trading company of Quaker Service, raises awareness and funds for the charity while serving the local community and offering volunteering opportunities. It has primarily operated as a charity shop on the Lisburn Road in Belfast, selling bric-a-brac/second-hand clothes, with past ventures including pop-up shops.
