Niamh (Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health), is the largest and longest established independent charity focusing on mental health and wellbeing services in Northern Ireland.
Niamh is structured as a group consisting of three elements:
- Beacon – delivering support for people with experience of mental illness, through supported housing (351 places), day support (accessed by 1139 people) and advocacy (totalling 5600 cases) in 2011-2012;
- Carecall – covering 511 000 lives, Carecall provided counselling and psychological therapies through 19,000 sessions to 4,500 people, as well as mental health and wellbeing programmes in the last year.
- Compass - developing research focussing on mental health promotion, models of mental health care, suicide, stigma, recovery and social inclusion.
