Listening Books

Audiobooks can be a wonderful source of entertainment, comfort and relaxation for those who are missing out on the enjoyment of reading. Our service is not only for people with visual impairments, but for anyone with ADHD, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, ASD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, anxiety, depression, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, diabetes, cancer, dementia, stroke, ME, CFS, problems with manual dexterity and many other conditions.

We have hundreds of wonderful fiction and non-fiction titles in our collection, including popular authors such as J. K. Rowling, David Walliams, George R. R. Martin, Agatha Christie, Khaled Hosseini and many more. We also have set texts and study guides supporting the National Curriculum from Key Stage 2 to A Level and many of our educational titles are recorded in our professional digital studios and aren’t available anywhere else! Members can listen to our audiobooks in three easily accessible ways:

•   Streamed online over WiFi through computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones.

•   Downloaded through our website or app to smartphones, tablets, computers, or laptops

•   On MP3 CD sent directly through the post, with no postage costs or late fees

Membership starts from £20 per year, however we have free memberships available for anyone who would find our usual membership fees of between £20 to £45 per year, a barrier to joining Listening Books. We don’t require any financial proof; just confirmation that this annual cost of between £20 to £45 per year would be a barrier to joining. Please be assured that we are a charity and there are no hidden costs for the free memberships. A free membership provides access to both our online and postal service.
