The Junction

The Junction is a Community Relations Resource Centre, established through a partnership between community relations organisations throughout the North West.  The Centre provides an overview and focus for peace building activities to enhance effective networking among practitioners.  It also provides a valuable access point for educational and training resources that support practitioners in the sharing of information and practice.

The Junction offers a city centre space for organisations, groups or businesses wishing to hold meetings, seminars, training events or conferences. 

The Aims of The Junction include:

-Acting as an outreach centre for the Community Relations Council, Northern Ireland. 

-Supporting practitioners in the field of peace building. 

-Providing an overview of community relations work in the North West. 

-Enabling practitioners to have access to information and resources on community relation. 

-Providing a safe space for a wide range of organisations to use for training, seminars and workshops. 

-Providing human resources by way of advice, training and support. 

-Developing an outreach programme which can link with other organisations and groups involved in peace building/education. 

-Providing a broader definition of community relations work. 

-Providing an international dimension that can inform practice at the local level.  -Providing information on equality and human rights.

The Junction currently employs two full time staff, coordinator and centre manager/administrator, with the view to employing a further two staff members.

The Junction receives core funding from The Community Relations Council, Northern Ireland.
