Through initiating, developing and delivering a range of high quality educational initiatives we aim to work in PARTNERSHIP WITH YOUNG PEOPLE making it possible for them to articulate their own needs and establish structures suitable to those needs.

Project Aims

 

 

     To develop a strategic response to the needs of young people.

     And to enhance the capacity of young people to participate in the development of a strategic response

     To provide structured, vibrant and optimistic programmes and activities, aimed at providing young people with the skills, capacity and motivation to become directly involved in their own personal development and the regeneration of their local community.

     To involve the wider community to ensure that the IEYP programme is sustained, adding value to existing and new partnership initiatives.

 

Project Objectives

 

 

     Develop youth structures and support systems through which young people can advocate on their own behalf.

     Facilitate the creation of appropriate groupings of young people to develop capacity building programmes.

     Support existing groups to develop and articulate their needs (both providers and young people)

     Develop and implement strategies for local youth work training.

     Initiate projects to enhance young people’s status / capacity and / or address specific needs.

     Develop inter-agency and community partnerships for the benefit of young people.

     To facilitate cross-community contact and networking between young people in around the interface areas of inner East Belfast and individuals and organisations which are involved in interface issues throughout the city.

 

Inner East Youth Project provides a broad range of services and opportunities to young people age range 6-25 yrs, whilst providing targeted support to the 50 at risk young people known to be offending, at risk of offending or at risk of social exclusion.

 

Over the past 15 years we have forged relationships with numerous community organisations/sports clubs, statutory bodies and NGB’s due to our methodology in delivering impact based outcomes and results that help shape young people’s lives.
