Glenelly Development Trust Ltd (GDT) was set up in 1991 to advance community development in the Glenelly valley, advance education and training by organising classes, courses and programmes and relieve poverty and promote sustainable means of creating employment and training opportunities. We own and manage Glenelly House which is the only cross-community, disabled access venue in Plumbridge. We organise and deliver a wide range of training and health and wellbeing activities such as Arts and Crafts, Mindfulness, Yoga, Relax Kids, Food Hygiene, etc. We work closely with other local community groups to support the delivery of a range of activities at key times of the year Easter, Valentine’s Day etc. We aim to provide community support and health and well-being activities for all ages within our community, especially the most vulnerable. We are the lead with DCSDC with the local community garden and allotments as well as the local Multi Use Games Area. We take lead partner roles on projects across the Sperrin DEA and work with partner groups e.g. Consensual Grant Making Model and Social Supermarket Fund and CARE Project for those aged 50+.
