Donegal Community Workers' Co-operative aims to promote and support community work to achieve positive social change and to contribute to the creation of a more just and equal society in Donegal and the border counties (north and south).

Donegal CWC is funded by SEUPB under PEACE III to deliver the Collective Action for Positive Peace project. CAPP aims to reinforce progress towards a peaceful and stable society by:

  • delivering training in a community work approach to peace building, strengthening the skills of community activists to resolve conflict and promote equality and social justice;
  • developing two cross-border Peace Action Networks to analyse conflict fault lines, develop collective positive peace action strategies and support their implementation;
  • developing a Border Peace and Equality Forum to maximise the linkages between work to promote equality and work to promote peace;
  • delivering a cross-border seminar programme with Community Dialogue, The Junction and North West Community Network aimed at promoting dialogue and debate;
  • providing two residentials where participants can explore in more depth community based approaches to resolving conflict and promoting justice, peace and equality;
  • producing regular e-bulletins and newsletters to provide information and promote debate;
  • acting as a ‘portal’, creating strategic linkages and providing practical support and policy analysis to community workers and activists working for positive peace.
