Training

Avert is the training branch of Foyle Women’s Aid and our aims are:

  • To develop formal relationships, policies, protocols and procedures on domestic violence;
  • To increase public awareness of domestic violence and build community capacity to respond to the needs of those affected by domestic violence;
  • To develop and formalise training provision (accredited and non-accredited) in relation to domestic violence to all public, community and voluntary sector agencies;
  • To continually evaluate training ensuring that the needs of those experiencing domestic violence are met.

Basic Awareness of Domestic Violence
Duration: Half Day Training

Models and Theories of Domestic Violence
Duration: 1 Day Training

The Impact of Domestic Violence on Children
Duration: 1 Day training

Dealing with disclosure – skills and good practice
Duration: 1 Day Training

Accredited Training Programmes City and Guilds Level 3 Progression
Award in Community Justice – Supporting Victims of Domestic Violence Crime

Training can be delivered at our own premises for up to groups of 12 or in your own or an alternative venue.
