Who we are:

HINI (Hostelling International Northern Ireland) was founded in 1931 as a not-for-profit organisation providing youth hostel accommodation in Northern Ireland. It is a member of the Hostelling International federation.

HINI is one of the founder members of Hostelling International, the largest youth organisation in the world, with approximately 2,650 youth hostels across the globe and 60 Member Associations.

What we do:

Membership of HINI is your passport to all youth hostels within this network and entitles you to thousands of benefits and discounted overnight stays. Our hostels comply with Hostelling International’s brand standards, assuring travellers get clean, safe, comfortable and affordable accommodation with a friendly welcome.

As an organisation, HINI aims to give people of all ages from all over the world, especially those of limited means, the opportunity to experience, appreciate and gain a wider understanding of Northern Ireland, by providing affordable accommodation for them on their travels.

What we're looking for:

We are interested in hearing from prospective Council, Board and Committee Members who want to help, are willing to dedicate time and energy to our cause and to our membership and who share our passion for hostelling to grow. We’re keen to speak to people who have a range of skills, experience and passion to be part of our journey of growth, change and development.

What you would be involved in:

HINI Council members help to guide the organisation and support the CEO, ensuring there is a clear mission, vision and strategic direction, while upholding the highest standards of governance.  This is an exciting time to join us, as focus on strengthening our partnership working both locally and internationally, as head towards our 100-year anniversary.
