World Radio Day on Homely Planet

UNESCO’s General Conference, at its 36th session, proclaimed World Radio Day on Saturday 13th February.

Homely Planet radio (managed by Beyond Skin) on Saturday 13th February will be joining radio stations around the globe broadcasting various short programmes produced by organisations and individuals around the globe.

Recordings will also be hosted on a Soundcloud channel so people can listen on demand and share on social media platforms.

The Beyond Skin theme for World Radio Day is “Music: transforming our world through division and unity”: sharing stories & music from around the globe reflecting how music has divided communities, united communities and how music has been the voice to speak out against inequality.

Includes a special interview (recorded ay Fort William youth club), with the Belfast musician and activist, Joby Fox who has returned from the Greek Island of Lesbos helping with the Refugee crisis.

The theme ‘transforming our world’ reflects the new UN sustainable development goals.
