The Ulster Cancer Foundation’s (UCF) generic cancer support group is holding its next meeting on Tuesday 6th March at 7pm in Craigavon Area Hospital.
The generic cancer support group aims to help patients develop a holistic approach to living with cancer and are complementary to any ongoing medical treatment. Hazel Kyle, Oncology Nurse, Belfast City Hospital will be facilitating the meeting.
Deirdre, Care Service Manager, UCF said, “The support group is open to anyone no matter what kind of cancer they have, as well as carers, family and friends and we extend a very warm welcome to all new members. There is no commitment to attend each session and everyone is welcome to come as often and for as long as they wish.
“The support group meetings are informal and there is no pressure to speak about your experiences; you can just come along and listen to what is being said. Patients in the past have gained a lot from talking to people who are in, or have been in, a similar situation as this can help to reduce feelings of anxiety, fear and isolation and improve quality of life.”
Light refreshments will be available. For further information or to confirm your attendance please contact Eileen Creery at UCF on Tel. 028 9068 0742.
