It is generally agreed that education is a passport – a passport to learning, to opportunity and to wellbeing.  The Open University is committed to helping people to access higher education and achieve their goals, grow confidence, and improve their life opportunities.  At The Open University, it is not about where you have come from, it is about where you are headed and what you are capable of. You do not need any previous qualifications to study with us – just lots of motivation and commitment. OU study means that you can fit your studies around your lifestyle and responsibilities. In fact, we are consistently the top university in Student Satisfaction ratings in Northern Ireland.

Your perfect place to start - The OU offers a range of Access modules that have been specifically designed to help you get a taste of the subjects offered, develop your study skills, build your confidence and prepare you for further study towards an OU qualification.  There are no examinations to sit.  Instead, there are four short written assignments and a number of online activities.  There are three Access modules to choose from: Arts and Languages; People, Work and Society; and Science, Technology and Maths. If you study an Access module as an optional preparatory stage towards an OU qualification, you could be eligible to study your module for free.  Call 028 90323722.

Getting the right qualification for you – whether you want to study a standalone module or complete a qualification, our flexible blended learning can help you to find the course that suits you.  Qualifications can be taken as Certificate of Higher Education, Diploma of Higher Education, Honours Degrees, or at Postgraduate level.  The Open University offers courses in a wide range of subjects: explore www.open.ac.uk/courses or call 028 90323722 to discuss your options.
