Transforming Your Care- What does this mean for volunteering?
During the recent Volunteer Policy Forum session, representatives from the Health and Social Care Board provided an overview of the proposed changes to how Health and Social Care Services will be delivered in the future.
This was an opportunity for volunteer involving organisations to come together and consider what these changes may mean for volunteering.
Some of the changes that are proposed for the system going forward are a shift to more care in the community i.e. providing more support to enable people to live at home for longer and encouraging independence and rehabilitation. For more details of the discussion and the issues highlighted by volunteer involving organisations in relation to Transforming Your Care go to www.volunteernow.co.uk/supporting-organisations/volunteering-in-the-public-sector/health-and-social-care
We would encourage you to look through the Transforming Your Care consultation document at www.dhsspsni.gov.uk/tyc and consider responding or alternatively inform Volunteer Now’s response by contacting Christine.Irvine@volunteernow.co.uk or telephone 028 9081 8332.
