Volunteer Now is currently inviting applications for the Small Grants Programme which is funded by the Department for Social Development. The funding will be available to support community activity during the summer period that involves volunteers.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to small, local volunteer-involving organisations  based in the 15 Council areas of  Antrim, Ards, Armagh, Ballymena, Belfast, Carrickfergus, Castlereagh, Down, Dungannon & South Tyrone, Fermanagh, Larne, Lisburn, Newry & Mourne, Newtownabbey and North Down.

The Programme is targeted specifically at projects with an annual income of less than £100,000 that promote volunteering amongst people not in paid work and other groups who are currently under-represented in the volunteering population. 40% of funding will be allocated to groups working in disadvantaged areas.

Wendy Osborne OBE, CEO Volunteer Now said, “This is an excellent funding opportunity for small volunteer involving organisations active during the summer period.   It will enable them to support existing volunteers and recruit new volunteers to help to make a difference in their local community”
