Study for a part-time degree in Health & Social Care Policy

With a strong policy aspect the Health & Social Care Policy degree at the University of Ulster is designed to meet the needs of people who wish to work in health and social care or in a wide range of related areas.

 Studying Health & Social Care Policy will allow you to relate health and social care policy and practice to: 

- Ideologies of care; 
- The legal and economic context of health and social care in different national settings; 
- The use of social science evidence in policy-making and implementation; 
- Health and social care systems in meeting human need.

You will acquire a good understanding of the multidisciplinary nature of health and social care and gain a range of practical and transferable skills.

The programme reflects contemporary developments in the field of health and social care in the United Kingdom and internationally, particularly the demand for a qualified workforce. It is an appropriate preparation for various careers in health services, social care more widely and the voluntary sector. It also provides an educational foundation for a range of administrative and management careers in health and social care services. Students may progress to professional training for related specialisms such as Social Work, Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Youth Work or study for a higher degree.

How much will it cost? The total cost for a part time degree is £4446, 18 modules are studied in total, with part-time students typically studying 3 modules per year at a cost of £247 per module; £741 per year.  Fees can be paid all at once or in 5 instalments per year.
