The search is on for the 2012 Family Support Organisation of the Year

2012 promises to be one of the greatest ever in terms of celebration and events for Northern Ireland. Not only will this year bring the Titanic 100 Festival in April and the opening of the new visitor centre at the Giants Causeway in September but 2012 will also see the inaugural ‘Ni4kids Family Awards’ take place on Friday 11 May at the stunning new Titanic Belfast building.

Nadia Duncan, Commercial Manager for Ni4kids Magazine said of the inspiration behind the awards, “For over 10 years now we have been putting families first by publishing a magazine and website dedicated to families with younger children in Northern Ireland. The popularity of our magazine has grown to the extent that we are now distributing over 50,000 copies per monthly issue to families across the province. For 2012 we have created a new event which aims to recognise and celebrate the organisations and individuals across Northern Ireland who also put families first."

There are 13 award categories in total including Mum, Dad and Child of the Year but the awards that may be of particular interest to members of NICVA are the awards for ‘The Family Support Organisation of the Year Award which is in recognition of the brilliant teams of individuals in organisations and charities that offer families with young children an extra shoulder to lean on.  There is also a Childcare and Coach of the Year Award which again could be for individuals and teams who work on a voluntary or charitable basis.

This is a great opportunity to receive some well deserved recognition and we want voluntary and community organisations across Northern Ireland to be nominated for these awards.
