Raising a child who is blind or partially sighted child in NI? - Have your say!

Guide Dogs NI, RNIB NI, Angel Eyes and Jordanstown School are working in partnership to develop an innovative programme for families with a child who has a visual impairment.

We need your help

We are conducting research into the impact, on your family, of having a child who is blind or partially sighted. If you have already participated in the research we are most appreciative of your support. But if you haven’t already done so, we would urge you to participate. By telling us about the impact on your life; and the services and opportunities you would like for your child - we can shape our programme to best suit your needs. We would also use anonymised information to raise awareness of the key issues faced by families across NI.

How can I get involved?

We understand the usual pressures of family life and for that reason we are offering two ways in which you can have your say.

1. Questionnaire
You can complete an online survey by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CYP_survey. The average time taken to complete the questionnaire is about 25 minutes.
If you don’t have access to a computer, please phone us on 0845 3727 402 and we will be happy to post you a hard copy of the survey.

2. One-to-One interviews
If you would prefer to share your experiences, in person, we can offer a one-to-one interview with our external facilitator. To request a one-to-one interview please email us at [email protected].

We hope you will take this opportunity to share your experiences and views and look forward to hearing your responses.
