Radio Ulster Broadcast Appeal on behalf of Northern Ireland Hospice

Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity caring for local people. Each year it cares for over 3,000 adults with life-limiting conditions both in the Hospice and within the community. The charity also provides support to families and carers.

The Hospice building at Somerton House opened almost 30 years ago. Time and changing needs meant that the building was no longer fit for purpose. Local Hospice services moved to a temporary home at Whiteabbey Hospital and fundraising is well underway to create a new purpose-built Hospice building. It will include different types of accommodation and up to date equipment – helping staff to provide the highest quality care and support. This new building will have a transformative effect on the service that the Northern Ireland Hospice can provide.
