Radio Ulster Broadcast Appeal on behalf of the MS Society

In Northern Ireland, the MS Society provides information, support and services for everyone affected by MS. Its work includes a Day Centre, information helpline, counselling, complementary therapies, physiotherapy and exercise classes.

4,000 people live with multiple sclerosis in Northern Ireland. MS attacks at random and many of the symptoms are invisible to others. It affects almost three times as many women as men, and people are usually diagnosed in their 20s or 30s. MS can get steadily worse, or symptoms can come and go unpredictably.

In Northern Ireland, the MS Society provides information, support and services for everyone affected by MS. Its work includes a Day Centre, information helpline, counselling, complementary therapies, physiotherapy and exercise classes. There are also 15 MS Society branches throughout Northern Ireland providing local support.

The charity also funds research that seeks to discover more about MS.
