Patricia Shows off Top Prize
Co Fermanagh local, Patricia Flanagan from Rosslea, was the lucky winner of a gift voucher from Rural Support and their CSR partner, Simple Power, following a prize draw, which awarded Patricia for her interest in green energy.
Farming charity Rural Support, alongside its CSR partner, Simple Power, hosted the competition to promote awareness of the charity and the support it offers to rural and farming families across Northern Ireland. Local wind energy company, Simple Power, also demonstrated how wind energy is helping local farmers across Northern Ireland to supplement their income.
Simple Power’s Chief Executive, Philip Rainey, presented Patricia with her prize at their Belfast-based headquarters this week. Patricia, who works for the Oak Healthy Living Centre in Lisnaskea, as a Health Promotion Co-Ordinator, won a £50 Marks and Spencer voucher, courtesy of Simple Power and Rural Support. Patricia said: “I was delighted to win this prize from Simple Power and Rural Support. I was aware of the charity and I think the work they do in rural communities is excellent.”
Rural Support Chief Executive, Jude McCann said: “It was great to work with our CSR partner, Simple Power, on another great community initiative. With their help, we continue to reach out to hundreds of people, informing them of the important work we do across the community. Rural Support is a local charity committed to helping farming and rural communities across Northern Ireland. It provides support for farmers and rural families through their helpline, offering a listening and signposting service. It deals with a range of issues including emotional distress, suicide risk, physical and mental health, farming paperwork and bureaucracy. The charity has also launched a project focusing on financial stress, aimed at those experiencing debt or financial issues relating to the farm business.
Rural Support is working with its CSR partner, local wind energy company, Simple Power, on campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of health and wellbeing in rural communities and farm families. Simple Power works in partnership with farmers across Northern Ireland and is committed to an on-going partnership with the local charity, providing financial support alongside awareness-raising and fundraising activities.
