Patient and Client Council open Complaints Clinic in Ballymena

The Patient and Client Council is committed to making it easier for people to raise a concern or make a complaint about Health and Social Care. One of the ways its doing this is by opening local Complaints Clinics across Northern Ireland.

Speaking at the opening of the Ballymena Complaints Clinic, Maeve Hully, Chief Executive, said: “We published our Annual Complaints Report today which shows that last year 1,935 people used our complaints support service – 362 of those were from people living in the Northern area.  People are looking to the Patient and Client Council in increasing numbers for advice and support when they have a concern about a health and social care service that they have received. The Patient and Client Council is keen to see Health and Social Care Trusts learning from complaints.”

Chairman of the Community Planning and Well-Being Committee in Ballymena, Councillor Tommy Nicholl, MBE welcomed the new Complaints Clinic saying “I’m very impressed with the new offices and think the location in the centre of Ballymena will be of great benefit to all the people, with its easy access and increased visibility.”

The Complaints Clinic is based in the Ballymena Citizens Advice Bureau at Wellington Court and will be open every Tuesday between 10am and 4pm.  People can make an appointment for the Complaints Clinic by calling 0800 917 0222 or drop in.
