Opera, ballet and more come together to celebrate city's creative arts at Belfast Exposed Gala

As part of a year-long programme for Belfast Exposed’s 40th anniversary, a black-tie gala event will take place in City Hall on June 6th.

Northern Ireland’s leading centre for photography is marking four decades at the vanguard of the visual arts movement with a major celebration of the creative industries in Belfast and its ground-breaking work in therapeutic photography.

The Belfast Exposed anniversary gala on Thursday, June 6th, is bringing together a roster of entertainment to enthral guests from the moment they arrive. NI Opera has been confirmed as one of the artistic elements, to be joined by High Points Youth Ballet and the Big Belfast Choir throughout the evening, with more still to be announced.

Guests will arrive to enjoy a retrospective exhibition showcasing 40 years of ground-breaking images that captured the essence of Northern Ireland and its people through the years. A drinks reception in the iconic rotunda of City Hall will be followed by a three-course meal in the Great Room.

Deirdre Robb, CEO of Belfast Exposed, said:

“In the arts, Belfast is synonymous with great photographers and iconic images, and we want to celebrate these and the talent we have right on our doorstep across the creative sector.

“With all the fantastic artists currently working throughout Northern Ireland, we are delighted with the programme of entertainment we have and we cannot wait to share in this celebration with all who join us on the night.

With tickets available to the public, whether individual, group or corporate sales, the gala will bring together representatives from across the cultural, civic and tourism sectors.

Deirdre continued:

“The anniversary gala will be one of the social events of the year, and with industry awards and fantastic prizes to be won on the night, we are looking forward to sharing it with fellow fans of the local arts and creative sector.”

Tickets to the Gala are £100 each and are available by contacting Belfast Exposed via [email protected] or by calling 02890230965.
