New 'Grandparents as Parents' 6 Week Training Programme

The course, which will run for 6 weeks every Wednesday evening, commencing Wednesday 22nd October 2014 from 6pm-8pm will focus on the legal and financial entitlements of kinship carers, including social security entitlement, Residence Allowances and Foster Care Allowances.

All travel expenses will be met and a contribution made towards childcare where requested.  Tea, coffee and a light supper will also be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity for grandparents and other kinship carer to learn of their legal and financial rights and obligations when raising a family or friends’ child.  It is also an opportunity to meet other kinship carers, share experiences, develop friendships and have a bit of fun.
