Leadership Training in NE
The NE Peace III Leadership in a Shared Society Project is now recruiting. The project will be delivered by a consortium led by the WEA. There are 60 places for current and emerging community leaders from the area.
Leadership in a Shared Society is a project supported by the NE Peace III Partnership which will be delivered by WEA, Mediation NI and the Interaaction Institute for Social Change. It will be delivered between Sept 2012 and Sept 2013 to 40 elected members and 60 community leaders from the area (the councils of Limavady, Coleraine, Moyle, Ballymoney, Ballymena and Larne). The learning programme consists of a 20hr L2 accredited course, a number of workshops, site visits and coaching sessions and will culminate with the application of the learning in a peacebuilding project in each council area, jointly planned and delivered by councillors and community reps.
The recruitment phase lasts until mid June. Applicants must work or volunteer with a group based in the NE area. Up to 2 applicants can come from a single group. There are 3 half-day taster workshops in early May where more information will be available - Coleraine and Ballymena on 9th May and Ballymoney on 10th May.
