LAW SOCIETY RAISES £15,000 FOR ACTION MENTAL HEALTH

Members of the Law Society of Northern Ireland have helped raise £15,000 for one of Northern Ireland’s leading mental health and well-being charity’s.

 

The Society, which represents solicitors throughout Northern Ireland, helped raise the money for its nominated charity of the year, Action Mental Health through a number of events including a concert by the Society’s Pro Bono Choir held at Stormont during the Summer.

The funds raised will go towards local projects supporting people with mental health and well-being issues.

The President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, Michael Robinson made the presentation of the cheque to Action Mental Health’s, Chief Executive, David Babington and to Callum Clark, their Events Fundraiser at Law Society house on Tuesday 19TH November 2013.

Speaking afterwards the President of the Society said:

"On behalf of the Law Society I am delighted to be handing over this cheque for £15,000 which I know will go some way to support Action Mental Health who work tirelessly to support members of the community with mental health and well-being issues".

David Babington, Chief Executive of Action Mental Health commented

“Action Mental Health is extremely grateful to the Law Society for the money raised and for the opportunity to help raise awareness of the invaluable work which we provide to the community”.
