Kinship Care NI and 'Kuddles' the Kinship Care Bear races in Mascot Gold Cup

'Kuddles' the Kinship Care Bear for Northern Ireland is off to England to compete in the World's largest Mascot Race which takes place at the Wetherby Race Course every year.

'Kuddles' the Kinship Care Bear will have his work cut out for him as he takes on his biggest challenge and races in the Sue Ryder Mascot Gold Cup on Sunday 26th April 2015.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Mascot Gold Cup and over 125 furry characters will be running.  Last year, it was a nail bitting finish with 'Hero Bear' (Help for Heros) coming in 1st.  We have every hope that Kuddles will do well and bring it home for #kinshipcare.

Kuddles spent yesterday afternoon getting some last minute tips from children and young people and so we hope he has listened intently on the advice he has been given.

This morning, Kuddles jetted off to England to start his training in preparation for Sunday's race.

You can tune into SKY Sports at 2.15pm on Sunday 26th April 2015 to watch live coverage of the race and to shout Kuddles past the finish line.

While Kuddles will be racing in the Mascot Gold Cup, #teamkinshipcare will be cycling 20 and 40 miles in the Copeland Charity Cycle, so if you are out and about in Cookstown on Sunday come over and say hello!

'Kuddles' the Kinship Care Bear is funded by the Big Lottery Fund as part of our Kinship Care Support Service in Derry/Londonderry.  His job is to fulfil the hopes, dreams and aspirations of children and young people in kinship care.
