Investing in Volunteers success in Northern Ireland

Two Northern Ireland organisations have been the latest to receive the Investing in Volunteers national award, which recognises their commitment to good practice in volunteer management.

To date 61 organisations have achieved the Investing in Volunteers award in Northern Ireland (this includes 6 organisations that have renewed their award)!

Leonard Cheshire Disability Northern Ireland has newly achieved and The Cedar Foundation has successfully renewed their Investing in Volunteers Award.  These organisations have demonstrated policies and procedures which value volunteers and support positive volunteering experiences. The assessors’ reports also demonstrated the diversity of volunteers involved, showing that age or disability is no barrier to volunteering and all organisations paid tribute to their volunteers and the impact they make.

Sandra Adair, Lead Assessor for Investing in Volunteers in Northern Ireland, said she was delighted that “in total, 61 groups in Northern Ireland are now publicly demonstrating their commitment to good practice through achievement of this Award and are improving volunteers’ experiences.”

You too can gain recognition for your involvement of volunteers – going through the standard has many benefits and will help you raise the profile of your volunteer programme. Achievers to date have all spoken positively about both the experience of gaining the award and the lasting impact.
