Investing in Northern Ireland’s Heritage

Business in the Community and the Northern Ireland Environment Link are proud to announce a joint partnership, helping community and voluntary groups working in the heritage sector.

The Heritage Sector Workshops initiative has been designed to help organisations in this sector to access funding and support from within the private sector and is part of the Heritage Lottery Fund Catalyst Umbrella ProgrammeInvesting in Northern Ireland’s Heritage”, a project designed to improve the fundraising capacity of the heritage sector in Northern Ireland.

The series of half-day workshops and master classes will be delivered across Northern Ireland from now until June 2015 and will cover:

  • Understanding how and why the private sector supports third sector organisations
  • Tips and hints on how to develop relationships with companies
  • Understanding what companies are looking for from sponsorship
  • Maximising your chances of being selected as charity of the year
  • Discovering how to make your message more interesting and relevant to the private sector

The next event is a Master Class – How to create an outstanding Charity of the Year proposal and will be held at Citi, Gateway Building, Titanic Quarter, Belfast on Wednesday 3 December 2014.

Denise Cranston, Community Programme Manager with Business in the Community explains: “We are looking for groups that have a desire to work better with the private sector, those who want to increase the strength of their message or find sources of funding.

“We’re delighted that we are able to bring such a high calibre of speakers to these events; people who really understand how the heritage sector can benefit from the private sector.”

Places at events are restricted to 20 people and allocation will be made on a first come, first served basis.

Northern Ireland Environment Link is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund to design and deliver a fundraising, capacity building and training programme bespoke to the Heritage & Environment Sector in Northern Ireland.
