If People Are Your Most Important Asset, Prove It

"The value added through targeted and effective training far exceeds the cost" - Nick Carson MD, GIVE Solutions Ltd

If people are your most important asset, prove it

A study unveiled by Skills - Third Sector, in partnership with the Third Sector Research Centre (TSRC) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), has revealed that there is a distinct lack of staff in the voluntary sector benefitting from on-the-job training.

An article in the Training Journal (http://www.trainingjournal.com///news/articles-news-training-and-development-demanded-for-third-sector/) reveals that in response, Skills - Third Sector is calling on employers to prioritise investment in staff training and development as a key strategy to help succeed in difficult circumstances.

Commenting Nick Carson, MD and Principal Consultant with Northern Ireland-based GIVE Solutions Ltd said:

Too often organisations see staff training as one of the easy cuts to make when times get tough. That really is a false economy because if we truly believe that people are our most important asset then we should be doing all that we can to build on their strengths and as a result, build the internal capacity of the organisation to survive and thrive.

“A viewpoint which sees training as simply an avoidable cost is completely missing the point. The value added through targeted and effective training will far exceed the outlay.
