Business in the Community is set to help organisations explore emerging business models and prepare for the future at its third Responsible Business Summit on Wednesday 5 October at the newly extended Waterfront Hall.

The event, which is sponsored by Ulster Bank, will give delegates an insight into the trends and megatrends predicted over the next decade and beyond, and challenge them to consider how they can adapt to be sustainable and thrive in the future.

Financial Journalist and Broadcaster, Declan Curry, will lead the audience through the event which will feature over 40 speakers from leading organisations including Paul Drechsler CBE, President, CBI; Adam Elman, Global Head of Plan A Delivery, Marks & Spencer; Dr Nicola Millard, Futurologist, BT; Kevin Hurst, Marketing & Communications Director, Veolia, UK & Ireland; Kieran Harte, General Manager, Uber, Ireland and Northern Ireland.

CEOs of leading Northern Ireland businesses will be challenged at the start of the day at an exclusive CEO Breakfast Forum in partnership with the CBI which will explore the valuable but often elusive commodity of trust.

Deputy Managing Director of Business in the Community NI, Gillian McKee said: “Ensuring business is fit for the future should be top of the agenda for all organisations. Leading-edge thinkers will inspire attendees on how best to address some of the challenges they can expect to face as we move forward in a rapidly changing world.

“Topics such as meeting the challenges of an ageing workforce, creating sustainable food chains, responsibility in a digital age, and how business models are evolving will feature, with emphasis given to the opportunities these will bring to local firms.

“The aim of the Summit is to challenge businesses to make good, responsible decisions that will help to future-proof not only their own business, but the wider community too. This event also brings valuable networking opportunities and a range of supporting organisations will take part in a packed business expo that will sit alongside the main plenary sessions.”

The Summit is supported by a range of leading organisations, including, ASDA, Belfast Harbour, Diageo and Carecall.

Business in the Community is also partnering with the NI Chamber of Commerce to reach a broader base of business opinion and ensure the delivery of its corporate responsibility and sustainability messages to a wider audience.
