Forestside gears up to raise £30,000 for Barnardo's NI

Forestside Shopping Centre has teamed up with Barnardo's NI to raise £30,000 to help fund the charity's work for vulnerable children and young people in Northern Ireland.

Lee Cutler, centre manager of Forestside gets a little help from his son, Ben and Leona McEvoy, Business Development Manager for Barnardo’s Northern Ireland as they launch a year long programme of fundraising activity.

Forestside Shopping Centre has teamed up with Barnardo’s NI for the next twelve months and is running an exciting programme of running, cycling, abseiling and great events on the mall.

Forestside is encouraging all its staff, customers and friends to join the already successful and growing ‘Team Forestside’, who is of all ages and abilities, to join in the programme of events and activities to help achieve the target at £30K.

All proceeds raised throughout the year will support Barnardo’s Northern Ireland, the largest charity working on behalf of children and young people in Northern Ireland. Their vision is that the lives of all children and young people should be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination. They aim to promote positive outcomes for all children in terms of their wellbeing, achievement and participation as young citizens.

Their range of work includes professional fostering; counselling and therapeutic support; residential and respite care; assessment and family support; community outreach, parenting and early education programmes; training for employment; and disability inclusion services.
