Education Minister visits Tullycarnet Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership
Education Minister John O'Dowd recently visited Tullycarnet Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership to understand further the local collaboration which is taking place between schools and communities to improve local education outcomes.
The Minister said he welcomed the opportunity to visit the Partnership and meet with representatives, local community leaders, school principals and representatives from the statutory and voluntary agencies. The visit was hosted by Barnardo's Tullycarnet Family Project. Maggie Andrews from Tullycarnet Neighbourhood Renewal/East Belfast Partnership said: There is a real need to address education achievement in East Belfast and approaches which support families and build collaboration between school and communtiy have the capacity to make a real difference. We welcomed the visit by the Minister to hear first hand about the significant changes which have been happening around education in the Tullycarnet area."
